Get A Vision

iclimbersmall1Companies have vision. A vision of where they want to be in a year or two years time. They then create a strategy followed by plans of how they are going to achieve their vision.

Armies have a vision. A vision of what they want to achieve. They then plan and implement each step of the way to achieve that vision, until they reach their sought after victory. Along the way, things will change which will require changing plans, maybe moving back to move forward in another direction.

What remains constant though is the vision. The vision is solid. It never changes. Everything is aimed towards the target.

To succeed in any enterprise we must have the same kind of vision in our own lives. You must become the general or CEO of your own life. No matter what your current circumstances are, whether you are employed or unemployed, retired or approaching retirement you still need a vision to strive towards.

Without a vision, you are drifting, at the whim of every social wind that hits you, every change in the economy. Without a vision, you have handed control of your life over to others who don’t have your interests at heart.

With a vision you’re making your own trail, without one you’re been dragged through paths you may not like. Are you happy with your life? If you are fair enough, thanks for reading. If you’re not then do something about it.

The first thing you need to do is create a vision. A vision is an image in your mind of where you want to be within a certain time frame. What you want to achieve in certain areas of your life.

I have a vision that I want to create a successful online company. My large vision is of a large successful ecommerce website making enough profit for me to enjoy a good lifestyle. In order to achieve that vision I have broken it down into smaller goals. Goals to be achieved within a certain timeframe that will get me closer to the big vision. The important thing is the vision.

I am aiming for this target. This is the ground I as the CEO or general of my own life, I must reach. Everything I do is aimed towards it. My destination is specific. I know exactly what I want to achieve and in what timeframe. I’m focused and determined. So far, I’ve encounted lots of problems along my chosen route.

Sometimes I’ve had to tread water while I come up with a solution to a specific problem. But the vision remains. The target is still there. The obstacle is a temporary blockage to be overcome.

With vision comes focus. Powerful focus is like light focused into a laser, it is unstoppable.

If you don’t have a vision of where you want to be. Stop right now. Take some time out and think about what you would like to achieve. Write it down. Then think of the time frame you would like to achieve it in. Write this down.

Once you have a clear vision of what you would like to achieve break it down into small steps then aim for it. Make all the decisions required to hit the target. Become the CEO or general of your own life. Your life on this planet is too important to leave it for others to decide what’s best for you. Get a vision and become all you can be.

Pension Crisis Escalates

Statistics are confirming what most of us have been aware of for some time, that, the destruction of the private pension industry by corrupt politicians and bankers is impacting on many people’s pensions to such an extent that many people are being forced out of retirement in order to make ends meet.

The state pension is a joke. Britain has one of the worse state pensions of all the developed nations. Millions of private sector workers who have worked all their lives and saved in what they were led to believe were safe pension schemes, are seeing their retirement plans burned.

Final salary pensions are virtually extinct after government tax grabs. The expected retirement incomes of millions of hard working people have been revised downwards forcing many of them to remain in work for longer if they want to avoid a retirement of poverty.

This has happened because most of us trusted the government and financial institutions to have our interests at heart. We now know they don’t, and haven’t had for a long time. The bunch of politicians who make up our political class are self seeking, money grabbing and in many cases corrupt. They are concerned with building their own wealth on the back of the taxpayer.

Those of us in the private sector are left stranded as we move towards what should have been our retirement. The only solution is to take direct action for yourself. Find ways to build your own pension income. The internet has opened up new opportunities for us all. Utilized correctly you can use the internet to build your wealth.

I’m not talking about making millions; I’m talking about building your wealth slowly to supplement your retirement. Use the internet to build your wealth. Doing nothing is not an option unless you are happy to accept a retirement of poverty.

Times Are Changing

photo_greek_islesWith the economy going down fast and many so-called experts predicting we are going to be in depression for a decade or more, things are not looking good. The down turn has hit most people but it has wiped out the hopes of those recently retired or just about to retire. Private pension funds have been decimated. Hundreds of thousands of hard working honest people have seen their hopes of a comfortable retirement destroyed by greedy bankers and corrupt politicians. The institutions we were brought up to respect have been working against us and have destroyed the lives of many.

The traditional concept of retirement is slowly disappearing, as many people will have to continue to work if they are not to see their living standards drop to an unacceptable level. The problem is trying to get employment when you reach middle-aged is not easy. Despite government legislation about age discrimination, we all know age discrimination is a fact that middle-aged people have to deal with if they are in the job market.

It’s not all bleak though. There are opportunities for middle-aged people today that did not exist ten years ago. The internet has created the opportunity for us to create a completely new life for ourselves. We don’t have to accept a life of poverty in retirement, we can utilize the internet to start our own business and invest in ourselves. I’ve invested in endowments over the years and seen them plummet, with all the promises of great dividends nothing more than a con. I’ve paid into a pension fund all my life and seen it reduced because of government tax grabs and falling investment returns.

Now I’ve said enough is enough. Eighteen months ago, I decided to invest in myself and start a business on the internet. My objective was simple; to build a fund for my retirement. Not by investing in shares and allowing someone who has no interest in my welfare to look after my money, nor by increasing my pension payments. No, I’m going to build my retirement income by investing in myself. This basic philosophy is the driving force behind my online business.

Along my journey, I’ve learned a lot. I started with a little knowledge and a lot of determination. My blog was born out of my desire to pass on and share the knowledge I have acquired and to encourage others to follow my plan to secure their retirement. I welcome guest posts on my blog.
